About the Event
Home to over 5,300 Veterans, Indiana County is proud of its military community. However, many Veterans face challenges in accessing healthcare, securing employment, finding stable housing, or simply seeking the camaraderie and connection that military service once provided. This Expo is designed to eliminate those barriers and directly connect Veterans and their families with critical services and support.
The event will offer:
- Healthcare screenings
- Employment and career services
- Housing assistance
- Mental health and wellness support
- Legal and financial services
- VA and community-based resources
Additionally, we will be hosting the first ever Stand Down, distributing essential supplies such as coats, gloves, hygiene kits, and more to at-risk Veterans to help them stay warm, healthy, and supported through the winter season.
Community Partnership
We are proud to partner with the Veterans Leadership Program (VLP)—a trusted nonprofit committed to empowering Veterans through housing assistance, career development, and wellness programs. All community donations for the event will be processed through VLP to ensure transparency and impact.
This event would not be possible without the collaboration of community organizations, businesses, volunteers, and sponsors who are dedicated to supporting those who have served. We offer a range of sponsorship levels and welcome contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses who want to make a difference. Each sponsorship level comes with unique benefits to recognize your generosity and support. Sponsorship helps cover event costs and ensures Veterans receive the highest quality care, services, and resources.
Sponsorship forms are due by August 31, 2025. To confirm your sponsorship or request a custom partnership, please contact us at (724) 465-3815 or email jwalker@indianacountypa.gov.

Operation Green Light for Veterans
Indiana County is proud to announce its formal participation in Operation Green Light for Veterans, a national initiative aimed at supporting and honoring our nation's Veterans. The County Commissioners have adopted a new resolution to take part in this significant program, which underscores Indiana County’s commitment to recognizing and aiding those who have served our country.
The nationwide campaign is designed to raise awareness about the issues faced by Veterans and to show them tangible support. By illuminating our community with green lights, we will demonstrate our collective appreciation and commitment to the brave individuals who have defended our freedoms.
The resolution reflects Indiana County’s dedication to supporting our Veterans in a meaningful way. The green light symbolizes hope and renewal, serving as a visible gesture of solidarity. This initiative helps shine a light on the sacrifices made by Veterans and brings attention to the ongoing challenges they may face, including mental health concerns, employment, and housing.
Residents are encouraged to place a green light in a visible location, such as a porch light or a window light, for the entire month of November, to show their support. Local businesses are also invited to join in by illuminating their premises with green lights during November, creating a community-wide display of support.
Indiana County Commissioner Mike Keith stated, “We are honored to take part in Operation Green Light for Veterans. This initiative not only allows us to express our gratitude but also to actively contribute to the well-being of our Veterans. It is a small but significant step in showing that we value their sacrifices and are committed to their continued support.”
Veterans who currently have a DD-214 (Certificate of Release/Discharge) on file with Indiana County Records of Deeds can visit the County Veterans Affairs Office, 2nd Floor of the courthouse to claim a free green light bulb. First come first serve, while supplies last.
Join us in making Indiana County a beacon of support for our Veterans each November!
