Mission Statement
The Indiana County Jail is the victim of phone scammers. Individuals across the United States are receiving a phone call with a caller ID number from the Indiana County Jail. The caller then either acts like they are known to the person called or they are calling on behalf of someone the person called would know. Money is then requested from the person called to post bond for the individual they say is in jail.
If you feel that this is a scam, please disregard the phone call. If you are unsure and feel you may know someone who is committed to the jail, please call 724-471-7500, follow the prompts and ask for the Shift Sergeant. The Shift Sergeant will be able to verify incarceration. You can also contact your local law enforcement agency for guidance.
The mission of the Indiana County Jail is to safely, securely, and humanely detain persons arrested and held during adjudication, convicted offenders sentenced to jail, and other persons lawfully committed to the facility. Inmates will be provided opportunities for education, employment, and programs to acquire the skills and values necessary to become productive law abiding citizens.
The Indiana County Jail employs professional and ethical staff and provides them with a safe and healthy work environment.
